This general timeline was gathering some consensus from MN and Chaos before we all went dark. Re posting it again for discussion

General Timeline

The Time of Old

A mysterious time wherein history has long pasted into legend and legend into barely remember myth.

The Time of Might

A time of technological mastery and omnipotent sorcery. Man travels across the Realms of Kar’kaish through all manner of means and connects themselves across the world via the land, sea, air and magic. Humanity languishes in grand metropolises that scatter the globe and maintain relations with all manner of fantastical creatures and beings. Humanity ascendant is poised to become one with the gods and already men begin to plot as to how they might join their creators amongst the stars. But not all of the Realms are splendid. Many backwater regions still practic the Old Ways and give servitude to dark and malicious masters.

The Fall

The continent of Avalanor –the greatest and most developed of the realms- suffers a great catastrophe of endlessly debated origins. Titanic waves, the size and girth of mountains, rise up and crash over the continent. Countless lives and endless millennium of toil are washed from the annals of history. The tremendous aftershocks of the sinking continent wrack the Realms of Kar’Kaish rending the very world apart. In shock humanity attempts to find recourse but is instead pitted against yet another calamity of nearly equal proportion. A ceaseless plague that sweeps the land killing all in its path.

The Time of War: Age of Terror 01-350

The plague burrows into the continent of Aran’niel, resurrecting its victims as flesh eating monstrosities, and nations begin banding together to halt the plague. The coalition suffers internally and soon infighting and bickering divide the broken world even more. Total war consumes the land as all do what they can to survive the seemingly unstoppable hordes of undead.

The Time of War: Age of Strife 350-800

The terrible disease of the past age ceases its heartless slaughter of man and the undead are at long last pushed back to the most isolated parts of the world. Men begin to move toward rebuilding what was lost. Notable areas of civilization emerge and forgotten people from across the ocean return to the continent. Some begin to talk of a great age of reconstruction. But liberal ideals of camaraderie and progress, relics of an age long past, are incapable of taking root in this bitter world. Self-interest grabs the hearts of men. Strife consumes the land as the surviving powers of the last centuries become inevitably pitted against one another. Mankind engages in a third catastrophe of their own creation.

The Time of War: Age of Night 800-1000

Humanity is broken and exhausted. Civilization has become all but extinct. Wild beasts, demons, wicked mages, fell creatures, bandits, warlords, and the wilderness rule the continent. Humanity, with nowhere to go but up, begins to reform itself at last. Various kingdoms begin to establish a sense of stability in the world and organizations committed to order begin to rise in power. Conflict becomes common and brutal but without the scale or energy of centuries past. A final battle is fought between the young nations of the new world order and the last great vanguard from ages past. Set before an uncertain future people remind themselves of the old adage that it is always darkest before the dawn.

The Time of Dawn: Age of Twilight 01-??

Present day. The future is man's to decide.

There's a good deal of time that happens before the Age of Might, just a mention is fine though since I don't have it all completed yet.

The problem is still that we need to decide what feel to the lore we want to go with and how far Noman Carries's plague went into the mainland (or if it's Noman Carries's plague at all).

I'd also like it if you mentioned in the Age of Might that some areas still followed the older ways, where population areas were held under sway by sorcerers from their dark towers. You can write about it if you want, I just know that was something that we wanted to have (And that I've used recently in the writing of Banefire so it'd be nice if it got a mention here). I say 'older ways' because philosophy and technology are not so advanced in these areas (Areas of Ara'niel and other continents seemed pretty backwater even if technology was so advanced), so the people hadn't overthrown their powerful masters yet.

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but I like your use of the Age of Twilight. You're either saying that the Night is gradually giving way to Day and to some hope, or saying that the past, as bleak as it was, is brighter than the times to come. It is fitting in its uncertainty.

Edited a tad. I figure the plague should affect Ara'niel pretty heavily in order to work with the lore MN already wrote about. I know we could retcon but I like the idea myself. And as stated before the essence of the Nolan incident would remain the same. It would just occur at a different location.
