Campaign: Conclave Crusade
Conclave Crusade
The Setting:
The Plot:
The Roleplaying:
The Groups:
I haven't sorted this information into groups yet. I'm doing a simple written-word-to-digital-text copy pasta so people can see what I've been working on. Here's the description so far:
A small group of Inquisitors found the Kailzim. They were intrigued and allowed to stay for a time. However the Kailzim banished them once they discovered their origin, where the people of Kailzimoth were exiled due to the Conclave. The Inquisitors were attacked by feral Kailzim as they left.
Convinced that this was another Tilbury waiting to happen, the Inquisition assembled a large sea-bound force comprised of powerful mages, Inquisitors, and its allies. Rogue mages and guilds would be granted a lot of freedom in return for their service. Only the desperate agreed. The Crusade has landed to the south of Kailzimoth. The feral Kailzim, sensing new prey, and attacked them relentlessly. Diplomats of the Kailzim met the Crusade in cautious welcome but were attacked and mostly killed by the Inquisition.
The Kailzim are horribly outnumbered but are all very powerful. The Inquisition and the Crusade are beset by the ferals, lack of supplies, sickness, attrition of all sorts, and lack of knowledge of the area (pertaining to the flora and fauna).
If the Kailzim and their human allies can last long enough and prevent their human enemies from aiding the Crusade, the Crusade will be forced to disband and leave.
If the Crusade can secure a source of supplies and gain a foothold or weaken the Kailzim sufficiently, the Crusade will conquer and/or enslave the Kailzim.
Groups:
Side 1: Inquisition, Conclave Mages, Guild Members/Rogue Mages, Allied Forces, Intentional Defectors
Side 2: Kailzim, Human Allies
Side 3: Feral Kailzim
Side 4: Local "Free" Humans

Re: Campaign: Conclave Crusade
Will be as developed as the Kirath campaign when I'm done. This are just my mental footnotes to cue the actual content. Too tired and busy to write more at the moment.
Re: Campaign: Conclave Crusade
Definitely looks interesting.
I'm thinking about seeing if I can't sneak my Inquisitor character in there, but I suppose that's getting ahead of myself there a bit.
I look forward to the completed product there Chaos.

I guess the local "free" humans won't do much? Still, should be a very interesting campaign. Feel free to bounce anything else off the rest of us for ideas.

Re: Campaign: Conclave Crusade
The Local "Free" Humans are the ones that the Kailzim have to basically either kill, quickly annex, or otherwise prevent them from helping the Conclave's forces. A lot of the problems the Conclave has pertains to its logistics, including general knowledge and supplies. If they receive aid from the "Free" Humans, then it tips the balance heavily in their favor.
Re: Campaign: Conclave Crusade
Interesting. I think the key to our first campaign will be simplicity that becomes deeper and more complicated as it extends. The basic concept behind this seems decent and easily relatable so I say we go for it.
