I love it Crom, excellently written, descriptive, and styled appropriately.

I was kind of thinking of writing a similar piece for the 'Great Invasion' myself, probably style it after this piece now.

Very nice. I like some of the parallels to the Eastern Front in WW2, whether or not they were intentional.

I'm wondering about how the Conclave really factored into this and what the current relations between the Impereich and the Conclave are.

The Conclave provided three major advantages. First, they provided vast stockpiles of supplies to Eadhalion - picture the US during early WWII. Second, they provided political pressure and sanctions to ensure that the Impereich became increasingly isolated as the war dragged on. Finally, they provided limited troops support. I say limited support because most of the Conclave conventional military force is reliant on drawing recruits from allied nations - most of whom were already embroiled in their own conflicts. I mentioned on the nation profile for the Impereich that the Conclave currently has an embassy based in Pelam. Theoric IV has worked very hard to improve the Impereich's international relations. Still, most tribes view the Conclave as intrusive and untrustworthy and the Conclave is still wary of the Impereich after what happened.

Again, very nice. Unless you've got anything more to add, edit, etc., I'll send it along to its proper accepted area.
